The call for papers is addressed to scholars dealing with Polish and other Eastern and/or Central European cinema. Papers on both feature and documentary films are invited.

Polish cinema is at the centre of the conference, which will be held simultaneously with a review of new Polish cinema at the Danish Film Institute, while other Eastern and Central European film cultures are meant to provide a broader context and comparative background for the developments that have been taking place in the past decade within cinema of the former Eastern bloc.

Geographically, we have limited the scope to all the post-communist European countries (the Balkans included), excluding the post-Soviet Union countries.

The conference is primarily focusing on the 21st century, but references/perspectives are obviously desirable.
